Computer Pals for Seniors - The Hills

Who are Computer Pals for Seniors-The Hills?

Computer Pals for Seniors – The Hills is a non-profit club run by volunteers dedicated to providing a service to Seniors and the Disabled in the Hills Area. Our aim is to provide low cost tuition for Seniors in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere, enabling them to become proficient in the many facets of computing and Tablets/Smartphone technology.

History

The Club was formed in 1998 with 50 members and since formation has provided tuition for more than 3,000 members. Club membership in pre Pandemic days was around the 300 mark at the conclusion of each financial year.

Training and Support

Training and support are major offerings of Computer Pals with our main objective being a high success rate of students having the confidence to apply what they have learned after completing a course.

Courses are conducted either in a classroom setting or, one-on-one training. All courses incur a low fee to cover the cost of materials which generally include a course-specific manual, other incidental items and a small contribution to overhead costs. We also provide follow up support to help members develop their skills through additional tutorials, courses and workshops. Informal discussion groups provide opportunities for exchange of ideas and socialising.

The Club also runs a HELP DESK where members can seek solutions to their computer and technology issues.
