Computer Pals for Seniors - The Hills

Overview

Computer Pals for Seniors – The Hills is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers dedicated to providing a service to Seniors and the Disabled in the Hills Area. Our aim is to provide low cost tuition for Seniors in a friendly comfortable atmosphere to enable them to become proficient in the many facets of computing.

History

The Club was formed in 1998 with 50 members and since formation has provided tuition for more than 3,000 members. Club membership in pre Pandemic days was around the 300 mark at the conclusion of each financial year.

Courses

We teach a wide range of class oriented Optional Courses based on one-Trainer to one-Student Computer Basics course. Optional Courses include Word Processing, Digital Camera, Advanced Internet & Email, Cloud Computing and Google Services. We also teach Tablets & Smartphones (Apple & Android).

Membership

Prospective or intending members are recommended to ring and make an appointment to visit the Club on a Tuesday between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm subject to COVID-19 Restrictions (see link to Contact Details). A Club Member will show you around and explain the operation of the Club and courses available. Meetings

Monthly Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday each month (except January) in the Harvey Lowe Pavilion at 10.00 am subject to COVID-19 Restrictions. Morning tea is served, there is no entry fee and all members and friends are welcome. Guest Speakers offer knowledge and expertise on a wide range of computer related topics at each Monthly Meeting to make computing more enjoyable and fruitful.
